How it works
One request, one mechanic, no calling around. Here is exactly what happens to your request, and who sees what, from the moment you send it.
You describe the problem and your ZIP. Trackara offers the job to a few nearby verified mechanics without your contact details. The first to accept gets your details, quotes you, and you pay them directly if you go ahead. Sending a request is free.
Pick your vehicle, choose what's wrong and add a few words and photos. Enter a VIN and we fill in the year, make and model from NHTSA and show any open recall campaigns. It takes a couple of minutes, and you don't need an account.
Your ZIP is matched against the service areas of verified mechanics who work on your kind of vehicle and do that kind of work. You see how many currently cover you before you send, even when the number is zero.
A small batch of the closest mechanics are offered the job. They see the vehicle, the problem, the photos and your city and ZIP. Your name, phone, email and street address stay hidden.
The first one who can do it accepts. The request locks, the others are told it's taken, and only that one mechanic receives your contact details. If nobody accepts in time, the next nearest mechanics get a turn.
The mechanic contacts you, asks anything they need and quotes you. Nothing starts until you agree to the price. You pay the mechanic directly; Trackara never handles the money.
Driveway, office lot, campground, storage lot or roadside. If your job turns out to need a shop or lift, the mechanic tells you.
When the job is done you get a link to review the mechanic. Only real, completed Trackara jobs can be reviewed, so reviews mean something.
